About Us

 MISSION
Kamloops Adult Learners Society (KALS) is a non-profit organization whose  mission is to increase the availability and access of educational opportunities in the Kamloops/Thompson region for retired adult learners who wish to enrich their lifestyle through life long learning.

VISION
The Kamloops Adult Learners Society was established with a vision of expanding educational opportunities for citizens in their retirement years.

We believe that participation in continuous learning benefits the individual by enhancing quality of life,
and are conducive to good health in mind, body, and spirit. In addition, KALS provides a forum for the
sharing of knowledge and ideas with others in a non-threatening venue.

Learners contribute to the betterment of their community through interaction and partnerships with other
community groups.

Peer instruction and peer learning are fundamental principles of the Society; thus the expertise of retired individuals is utilized is a valuable resource in organizing programs and instruction of courses.

As a voluntary, non-profit Society, KALS endeavours to keep tuition costs affordable in order to include
access for those with a modest income.
